HOW LONG SHOULD A RIBBON BE FOR A WEDDING INVITATION?
We recommend a ribbon length of at least 18 inches to allow for ample ribbon to tie a bow or knot. This length is versatile and works well with most invitation styles. To make it easy for our clients, we include enough ribbon to allocate a ribbon length of 18 inches for each invitation in your order. We offer a variety of silk ribbon shades on our website, so couples can choose the perfect color to complement their wedding invitations. It is important to remember that silk ribbon will require double envelopes to ensure they are protected during mailing.
HOW DO YOU TIE RIBBON AROUND AN INVITATION?
Start by wrapping the ribbon around the invitation, making sure it is centered and level. Then, cross the ends of the ribbon and bring them back around to the front of the invitation. Tie a knot at the center of the invitation, and then create a bow with the remaining ribbon. Adjust the bow and the ends of the ribbon until they are at the desired length and angle. At Shine, we include enough spools for a ribbon length of 18 inches in each ribbon order, making it easy to add the perfect finishing touch to your invitations. HOW MANY YARDS OF RIBBON DO I NEED FOR WEDDING INVITATIONS?
A standard 5x7” invitation will need approximately 1 yard of ribbon for every 4-5 invitations. At Shine Wedding Invitations, we simplify this by offering enough ribbon for an 18-inch ribbon length in each order, so you don’t have to do any calculations. Please note, if you are using a different length for your ribbon, you may need slightly more.
